| David Shoemaker of the Northwest Arkansas office of the Octagon sports management firm explained to our chapter members April 27 about how he and his staff of five spend most of their time during the year getting ready for the annual LPGA tournament in Rogers. LPGA takes care of the golf aspect, Octagon handles the rest and works with tournament sponsors "to create the buzz for the event." Octagon, an international company, partners with sponsors to find out what to promote beyond the tournament itself. This year's tournament on Sept. 9-11 at Pinnacle Country Club is officially known as the "Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G." |
