May 27, 2009

Michael Clark, APR (left) and Ed Nicholson, APR, explain the ins and outs of Twitter, You Tube, blogs and other forms of social media.

By the time the afternoon was over, the approximately 30 people gathered at the Arkansas World Trade Center in Rogers had established individual Blogspot and Twitter accounts and were vigorously posting content to each of them.

Chapter members Michael Clark, APR, and Ed Nicholson, APR, had guided the group through the emerging and ever-changing world of social media.

The professional development seminar attracted mostly chapter members plus a few additional practitioners and journalists. The session leaders showed numerous examples of how, as Michael said, these applications can be used "to grow communities and energize stakeholders with social networking tools."
